Hunting For My ID Book

Tomorrow we vote. I woke up at about 2-30am suddenly thinking, ‘where is my id book?’ I hadn’t seen it for a while and wondered where it could be.  I went back to sleep again and woke up closer to 5am. Mike got up and made me coffee. I got up and looked on my desk for my ID book. Not there. I racked my brain. When was the last time I had it? Probably on the ship at the end of January. I know our passports were on my desk and I would have locked them away. I went to where they are kept, but there was no ID book. Maybe I left them in my rucksack. I checked the pockets. Not there.  I had some coffee and did some work, stopping every now and again to look in another spot. The writing bureau? Not there. The cars. Not there. The suitcases. I took them both down from the cupboard and rifled through all the pockets. Not there.  Bedside draw. Nope.

I began to re-align my thinking. I may not get to vote tomorrow.

Mike had joined me in the search. I looked in cupboards, in the kitchen, all around my desk, in my closet.

It had gone off my radar. I could not find my ID book.

Then I said to Mike that maybe it was in the plastic envelop we took on the cruise that contained all our tickets and excursion information. He said thought that was the most likely place. I looked for where that would be, but could not find it.

I had an inkling it may be around my desk. I looked on the bookshelf. Not there. I stood in front of the bookshelf, looking at each file and suddenly, I saw a little edge of green.

I pulled it out. Tada!

I found it!!

All that searching. I was so reminded of God’s love for me and for you.

Luke 15:7-9

What woman who has ten silver coins and loses one of them does not light a lamp, sweep her house, and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls together her friends and neighbors to say, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost coin.’ In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

Grateful today I found my ID book. I was reminded that God found me!

Today I worked 9 hours. A good day. We did a load of washing and some housework as well.

Hebrews 4:12

For the Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Yup.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,
