Saturday
Today was the day…
That was very satisfying, because I cleaned our little space. While we have built a house, we are living on one floor of it and it is so like apartment living. I love it. I did most of it early in the morning. Just before 8am Mike and I walked to Fish Hoek to do a bit of shopping. The wind has been howling, so there was loads of seaweed on Fish Hoek Beach. We passed by when it was being gathered. Despite the wind, the beach still had sunbathers, swimmers and walkers…
(I got a new cell phone that has a fancier camera – hence the notation). The sea was quite rough…
And the wind is worse now. It’s expected to be a little better tomorrow and then a few lovely days follow.
After we got home, we had breakfast and at lunchtime, I had a quick visit to Valerie Gail. When I got back, I sorted some of our books and took down all the curtains from David’s old loft. In the afternoon, they got washed and I finished the housework, including polishing the wood.
The other thing that happened today is I boiled the fruit for the Christmas Cake which is going into the oven tomorrow. I just need mixed spice and ground ginger to make it happen.
A productive day indeed.
