Hello Weekend!

Friday

There’s something good about the sound of Friday! It is always a work day for me, but generally a slower day as it’s weekend already in the Middle East. I’ve probably said that a lot of times before. I had a little bit of work this morning, then Mike and I went for a walk. Home, bit more work and then I went to Bible study where we watched Andy Stanley on this… excellent as usual.

Such wise advice. You’re not the boss of me. I won’t chase after the wind.

This afternoon I had two Skype calls and a bit more work.

That done, David came over and had a visit with us. He is processing Kathryn Swain’s untimely death. She left letters for 22 people close to her. David was one of them. He will collect it on Monday. She was planning her death for a while beforehand. David sent a message to her Dad the other day, saying he was available if he needed any help or to chat. Her father sent a voice note back saying how much he appreciated David visiting Kathryn. That was two weeks ago today. He said David had made Kathryn’s day and he reminded David of some of his last words to Kathryn. As David was leaving, Kathryn suddenly said, “David, I love you!” David replied, “and I love you too Kathryn.” She went inside and told her Dad that she thought that was possibly the only person outside the family who had ever told her they loved her.

David was so grateful to have replied in the way he did and didn’t just brush her off with a ‘thank you.’ He could so easily have done. Last November Kathryn invited David to the Magic club in Cape Town.

Be kind. Don’t leave words unsaid.

On a positive note, this week I paid more money to the Cape Town City Council. Inching our way forward to build a house on the mountainside. I tell you it’s a journey. Be prepared for highs and lows, mountain tops and valleys, exhilaration and head-shaking dismay. Unless the Lord builds the house – they who build it labour in vain. We are waiting for the Lord to continue with the build. His timing.

John 16:33

In Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be or good cheer, I have overcome the world.

Peace!

Yes!

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
