Blogging Through The Day

Thursday

11am

I’m doing something different today. So often in the morning I think of what to write and by 8pm, I’ve forgotten, so today I’m capturing it as I go. This morning, Mike is out. He was summoned to HQ to meet the big, big IT guy.  He was told they want a time line but that was all they said. We are ever hopeful that the meeting will be one of thanking and shaking hands and saying, ‘we’ll take it from here!’ I just heard from him…

More work! The last time we thought it was over was two months ago when he got an email saying the IT was being over-hauled and the main IT company would take over. Mike joyfully went to a meeting to discuss the next steps only to discover “Oh no! That doesn’t apply to your programme. It only applies to everything else!” We are blessed to have him working 3 years after he retired. Everything we have comes from the Lord including our jobs.

I stayed in bed until about 10am, but I did do a couple of hours work from under my duvet. Then I got up and decided to get on top of the day by straightening out the house and doing the dishes.

I’ve done a bit more work.  Also something has to be done about this…only 67 unites of electricity left.

I’m now leaving for gym. It’s 11-23am.

1-29pm

I’m home. I went to gym, then to the chemist to get my prescription for statins. Yes!  I got a call from my GP to come in to discuss my blood results. My total cholesterol was a little down at 7.7 but the LDL (bad cholesterol) was 5.4. The HDL was not bad at 1.7 but my GP says with my familial high cholesterol and the heart disease in my family it would be wise to get the bad down a bit, so he’s put me on a very low dose of 10mg. I’ve actually emailed Dr. Wellington for his opinion but he has not yet got back to me. The main reason why I’m prepared to take it is because of the jaw surgery I’m facing either late this year or early next. Anyway, back to work.

1-47pm

Mike is home. He actually arrived home while I was shopping and called to say he was going out to buy some stuff. He’s home from that. I’ve caught up with email, so am going to drink tea with him.

2-05pm

I discovered what Mike went to buy…light bulbs! He then went on a mission putting new efficient light bulbs all over the place!

4-20pm

I’ve had tea, a rest, a shower and started cooking dinner. I’ve also taken a couple of calls from applicants.  Back at my desk to do a little more work. I tried buying electricity online, but there was an error.

5-59pm

Dinner is done. David is here. He bought a ukulele and is busy playing it.

6-35pm

Now I can wrap this up and call it a day! Thursday 1st August. A good day.

John 14:27

I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

Gym:

30 minutes Rolling hills on the treadmill. It was tiring, especially as I ran most of it.

Then a few light weights and stretches.
