1-45pm
Mondays and Thursdays are gym days. I go to Melanie who is a personal trainer friend and she puts Riana and I through our paces. She works from Imhoff Farm, where she has a small private gym. Melanie has a fabulous story to tell. Several years ago, she was very overweight and had a variety of health issues. After a catastrophic holiday to Madagascar, where she fell and broke her ankle, she returned to South Africa determined to get herself fit, planning to never again suffer the humiliation she had on Africa’s biggest island. Today, 20kg less in weight, she is a qualified personal trainer with a special interest in helping O50 ladies to be fit and healthy. Of course, she takes all ages, but she started her fitness journey after she turned 50. Mel got fit after 50. You can too. You can call Melanie at 0836260453.
Anyway, Imhoff is fabulous and with it being spring, there are loads of animals to admire and coo over. We went for our outdoor warmup and couldn’t help but stop to befriend the Alpacas, which look like Llamas. Riana took the pictures…no parking? Says who?
Here’s Melanie with an Alpaca and a lambie (maybe its name is Pat?)…
It’s not often you get to take a selfie with an Alpaca (it’s not a llama, says Riana…even rhymes!)
So cute! Just for the record…here’s the Alpaca vss Llama story:
Good exercise was had by all!
My main aim today was to video myself as I finished my cross-stitch project of Granny! I did that. We’ll see if I can get it onto You Tube. If I am successful, it will be my blog for tomorrow. I make it tomorrow, because it is a year since Granny passed away.
One of the main things I learned while putting in the 20 000 stitches required to complete the picture was the importance of not making mistakes. I had to count carefully. I had to double check. At one point, I didn’t. I had a choice….to check again or to plough onwards. I chose to continue. It was the wrong thing to do. I knew it would have been right to stop, check the pattern….check the grid….cross-check, but instead I presumed I was on the right track. It was only some time later that I realised I was completely wrong and needed to go back and unpick a whole section. I was so reminded of that this morning when I read Jeremiah. So often in our lives, we have moments in time to make a choice. An illicit relationship starts with a choice to engage with a person who you know you should not. You choose to go into a dodgy website. With many choices there may be warning bells. Listen to them! The Israelites had wandered away from God for a long time and He was desperate to see them get back on the right track. Jeremiah 6:16
This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is , and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”
There is nothing bad about going the right way. Don’t rush the moment. Jeremiah 7:11 “But I have been watching,” declares the Lord.
It was a good reminder for me.
The day is almost gone and I’ve still got some things to do, so off I go!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
Gratitude Pic…All of Granny is finished, but I think I may fill in the gap in the bottom left hand corner. It’s is supposed to be white, but I may make it all green.
