Today I went in search of hand cleaners. I wanted one that doesn’t need a rinse. Checkers had none. Dischem had a display at the entrance with hugely expensive options. R150 for 200ml, so I went down the aisle and found 60ml bottles for R12!
If you go to Sun Valley Dischem, wait a few days, I bought what was on the shelf, although they do have 30ml bottles for R10.
You can see I also bought this one…
It was a bit more expensive (about R24), but it’s because you can dilute it.
Reading these instructions made me remember another casualty of the drought:
Bubble bath.
No one is buying that in Cape Town!
#548 of my 1000 thanks is for my hand sanitizer stash. I have one of those lavender bottles in the downstairs bathroom, in the upstairs bathroom, in my handbag and in my gym bag.
At gym I ran 5km in a leisurely 38 minutes, did some machine work and then did some stretches. My goal is to be able to stand with my feet together and without bending my knees be able to put my hands flat on the floor. Do you know how hard that is? I don’t know if I will ever be able to do it. At the moment I can put all ten fingers on the floor but hands are not flat and I can only hold it for about 5 seconds. Surprisingly, it’s not my calves that complain, but rather I get a cramp in my stomach muscle…ha! it means I have a muscle!. I have a one-pack! There was this lady swimming today who was very impressive. She had a fabulous 6-pack, but then she wasn’t 53! I counted her lengths while watching from the treadmill. She swam crawl for 40 lengths (1km) and then did about another 20, alternating crawl, breast-stroke and using the kick-board. She was tired. Swimming is fantastic exercise, but with the drought I do wonder if our days in the Virgin Active pool are coming to an end. I’ll have to ask.
Psalm 139:16
All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.
Such comfort in those words.
These are the days….ordained for you.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
