Granny’s Night Wanderings…

3-24pm

Mike woke at 2-15am with something on his mind. One of those awful middle of the night moments when you realise you have tossed something of vital importance into the recycling bin and if you don’t get it out NOW it will disappear later in the day! So up he got and out he went. When he came back upstairs he said Granny was wide awake and wandering around her bedroom. I dozed off and woke with the alarm at 3-40am. My routine is to turn the upstairs bathroom light on and get dressed. Then I turn it off and creep through the bedroom and down the stairs. If I need light, I use my cell phone. When I got to the lounge I immediately heard Granny. She doesn’t speak, but she does make vocal noises that sound like ‘Why why why!’ She sort of breaths it out in a half whisper… hard to describe! The whole downstairs was in darkness. I thought she was in the passage so I walked through the lounge (in the dark) but then realised she was behind me. I pressed my cell phone to get some light and there she was sitting, scantily dressed in a thin nightie and barefoot in her chair! She was freezing cold! She had neither her walking stick nor her wheeler, so don’t ask me how she had got there in the dark.

I turned the light on andย  took her by her ice cold hands and directed her back to bed….heated her comforter (that microwavable cushion) and put her back into bed, putting socks on her and tucking her up nicely! She looked so frail. I was actually quite shocked. Anyway, today I came home at about 2pm and there she was as normal as ever, with seemingly no ill effects from her fall the other day or her night wanderings. ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s been a beautiful cloudy cool drizzly day in Cape Town. I’m sorry this weather won’t last…

After a good morning’s work, I went to the Blue Route Mall and did some shopping. Now I’m getting all organised. Soup is cooked. Sausages are going to be soon. Show prep for tomorrow is 90% complete as is this blog! So I’m feeling pretty on top of it all.

Philippians 3:14: I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Stay warm!

In His Grip,
