Every evening, as I put Granny to bed, I re-emphasize the need for her to STAY IN BED! “Don’t get up!” I say, loudly and firmly, so she can hear me! “No, I won’t,” she says as emphatically. So this morning when I woke and went downstairs to pray, there she was, creeping along the passage to the bathroom. She had not turned any lights on. She had not taken her walker. Just Granny, edging her way along the wall, shuffling slowly forward!!! “Aaaaaagh!!” I exclaimed, “Caught you in the act! I told you not to get out of bed!!” In a small voice, she replied, “I can’t help it!!” ” AH! THE TRUTH! At last the truth!” But it doesn’t make it right. Every time she gets out of bed and goes on this little nocturnal jaunt, she risks falling and hurting herself, which has happened twice! Tch! Tch! I helped her to the bathroom and then put her back to bed!
I spent the morning at CCFm, first doing the show and then preparing music for next week. I have to get home early tomorrow as Mavis has to go to the Doctor and so Granny will be home alone. One funny photo from the morning is of our Station Manager, Barry Isaacs…whose son-in-law had this TV shirt made for him… HILARIOUS….for those that don’t know a Gaadjie is the bloke who hangs out the Cape Town taxis yelling for customers….classic photo…
Barry seems to be asking, “Who is this guy?” Not many people who can touch their nose with their top lip! 🙂
