2-23pm
This weekend Mike & I planned to start de-cluttering. When you have lived in the same house for 24 years, it’s amazing the amount of stuff you accumulate. Mike is a Clutter Buster. He has a method that definitely works…
Step One: Get organised…
Containers for everything…rubbish bin, recycling bin, bin for giveaways, bin for shredding and bin for stuff we are keeping but we don’t know where to put!
Step Two: Fill the Containers…
Bin for the stuff to be given away…
Glad its filling up. Mike will keep it for a month while we think about all the stuff we’re giving away and then we’ll take it to its new home.
Stuff that we are keeping…
Step Three: Put the lids on, stack them away until you can take them to their new homes.
The result was amazing…more shelf space…
…AND…. you can even SEE the desk top…now THAT is amazing!…
We have a long way to go, but it is a start. 🙂
When we took a break, I did O-desk work and Mike looked through his telescope…
….at the top of Chapman’s Peak…
Now we have had lunch which was tuna & avocado salad. Today has been a very productive day, because not only have we made a start on the clutter, but we also went out for breakfast and I did a 3km run! And I’ve done a couple of hours on the Adrian and Stacey work. She messaged me yesterday to say she would never fire me! 🙂
Getting rid of all that clutter really is cathartic. Purging our environment from all that stuff, makes us feel better on the inside and makes us far more productive. It’s so rewarding! The word purging is found in the Bible. Yesterday I read Psalm 51 where it is found. It’s a great prayer…here are the first 12 verses….
Psalm 51:Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.2 Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.6 Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place.7 Cleanse (purge) me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.8 Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice.9 Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Asking God to forgive us also makes us feel so much better on the inside. 🙂
God bless you loads!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
