Last week I applied for another job on Upwork and got the details in order to begin this week. Then the ‘nature of Upwork’ happened where the potential employer disappeared altogether. I wrote to him but he did not reply. So I’m not sure what happened with that, but I am quite content that it has come to nought. I told the MD of the company I am working for (where everything has been head-bangingly quiet) that I was looking at other short-term or part-time work. But I also told her that her company took precedence. Well, she asked me to screen some British applicants and the next thing I knew there was a deluge. Yesterday I worked for more than 7 hours, today more than 6. It feels good to be fully occupied again. Forget about the other job.
I loaded my Skype account with some money and now am using it to phone cell phones across the world. It’s very effective and cheaper than usual. Skype has certainly changed the way business can be done across the world.
This morning I went to gym. I walked for 20 minutes, then I did the Grid before cycling for a ten minutes. The Grid was grueling. I said to Mike after I got home how amazed I am that they can string together 6 pretty simple exercises that are not that difficult to do. Yet when done at that intensity, when the half hour was up, I was a wreck! Squats, lunges, press ups, mountain climbers and dragging a pole were 5 of the 6. The sixth is too difficult to explain!
On Friday when I was on the treadmill, I went to take a swig of water and somehow the lid of my water bottle popped up and disappeared beneath the treadmill. For the life of me I couldn’t find it. I asked the cleaners to look out for it and left my details at the reception. I have had that water bottle for years. I think Mike got it at a conference and I claimed it. Without the lid it’s pretty useless, so you can imagine how happy I was when I walked into the gym the next day and there was the top of my bottle at reception!
#532 of my 1000 thanks….they found the top to my bottle!
