Final Floor Has Cement

Thursday

YaY! Today went off just as planned. It’s quite a nerve wrecking thing using polystyrene blocks. I found flimsy and when Mike and I were walking on them, he kept telling me to walk in the middle of them and to avoid the half ones. I kept telling him that when the workers go up there to handle the cement being poured they won’t be pussy footing around.

Mike went off to the site early and came home just after 9am to say that the cement had arrived and they would soon start pumping. So we both hurried back to take a look. We had to park a little way along the road as the cement trucks were a bit of an obstruction.

We walked up stairs just to the right of this front truck. They go up the mountain just a short distance from the back of our building. There we had a great view….

When I got a bit closer, I took a few photos which Google made into a panorama…

Google also reminded me that one year ago today, the initial building team were busy on the piles.. this was taken from the back corner of the plot on 26th March 2019…

I worked for the rest of the morning and then at about 3:30pm, Mike and I returned to the site for Mike to do some last-minute electric work.

We are not sure when we will return to the building site. The country locks down at midnight tonight. We are well stocked with food and I have a grocery delivery coming on Saturday morning as well. There’s no reason for us to go anywhere.

We have asked David to splash some water on the newly laid cement over the next few days as it hardens.

Certainly going to be an interesting 3 week season.

Romans 15:33 – very appropriately says,

“The God of peace be with you.”

Amen.

Stay safe.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
