Elsie Time

I was awoken by Mike early, early this morning. The alarm had gone off and I hadn’t heard it. I hopped out of bed, dressed and at 4-38am, we drove away from the house and headed for Swellendam. Surprisingly, there was still traffic on the roads at that time of the morning. We passed 40 cars along Baden Powell Drive between Sunrise Circle and the N2. Much better than the 1000 we passed when we left home at 6-15am some months ago.

One of the things that struck me about the trip is that the canola has been harvested. No more fields of yellow, but there were thousands and thousands of sheep; and not just any sheep – fat woolly healthy sheep.

#926 of my 1000 thanks – I found myself being grateful for the sheep. There is something comforting about driving along the N2 and seeing the flourishing farms. Those sheep represent a thriving farming community.

We arrived in Swellendam at 7-30am.

It was wonderful to see the family. Elsie has grown so much and is very  alert. We had a great time together. She had a snooze while we worked and then at lunchtime, we headed for the Bontebok National Reserve and braaied on the banks of the Breede River which runs through the reserve.

It was lovely and quiet…

After we got home, I did a bit of work and then had a snooze! When Elsie woke up, she came and hung out with me and together we did her first Sudoku. She looked on intently and we finished the whole thing!

She is so cute.

Today I got an email back from my medical aid saying how much they will pay of the orthodontist bill.  Really pleased to say that they will pay more than half of it, but as the orthodontist is not contracted on medical aid rates, there will be an outstanding amount of R12881.  We’ll have to wait and see how much medical aid pays for the surgery.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Amen!

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
