Early Morning Airport Run

Today, I got to go to international arrivals at the airport! I’m not sure when I was last down at that side of the airport but I can tell you, they’ve fluffed it up some, making arriving quite a unique experience. They don’t have a picture of Table Mountain, but they do have a number of other features which highlight some of Cape Town’s most famous attributes, including a mockup of Nelson Mandela’s cell….

A warm welcome…

Welcome to the Mother city

And a reminder that we have penguins!!

This is all at the international arrivals hall of Cape Town international airport. Very clever and very creative. I was impressed.

But trust me! I was not there for the decor! I was there to pick up my FRIEND!!

Riana

Riana’s home for a few weeks. Leaving the cold and cloudiness of the UK, she is here to celebrate her mother-in-law’s 80th birthday!

It was wonderful to see her!

The morning turned a bit unexpected when I got a call to say that there was water leaking out of an outdoor pipe at my brother’s house in Fish Hoek. A call to the plumber, two hours labour and the job was repaired.

The conversation with the plumber turned interesting, when he asked me if God would hold it against him for not being able to give up smoking. He had done so well getting down from 20 per day to just a couple.

Romans 8:34

Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died–more than that, who was raised to life–is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

My message to him is to keep trying to give up. God does not condemn him.

It’s been a beautiful day in Cape Town. As I saved the photos for today’s blog, I thought how much we must appreciate each day. Put any frustrations (like leakyt water pipes and 2 hours of hanging about) behind us and lap up the pleasure of what we have before us.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
