Last night, I went out for dinner with my brother. We were talking about being frugal and saving money for ‘a rainy day’ – and not enjoying the journey. In the course of our conversation he ended a sentence with “don’t put off your happiness forever!” It was such a great quote and I knew I had to remember it so I wrote it down on a paper serviette!
We both agreed that happiness should be daily.
Everyday, make a plan to enjoy the little things in life that give pleasure.
Smell the roses; enjoy the sweetness of birdsong; greenness of the grass and the smell of the rain.
Relish the aroma of coffee, absorb the ticking of a clock; tune in to the rustle of leaves; smile at the wagging of a dog’s tale and the purring of a cat.
And treasure relationships. They are the riches that are the greatest in our lives. Today, I had lunch with my sister! Anne and me.
Tea, an unusual fusion with a timer to get the perfect brewing time…
And my lunch was more breakfast…berry pot.
It was all good!
In my diary today,
“God wants us to lean entirely on Him; that is what faith really is. You have to trust God to keep you in His will, straighten out any crooked paths in front of you, keep you on the narrow path that leads to life.” (Joyce Meyer)
2 Chronicles 20:15
“The Lord says this to you: be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude; for the battle is not yours but God’s.”
Great news!
Keep the smile going!
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
