1-40pm
It’s been a fabulously chilled few days, but at least SOME housework had to be done today. I cleaned the dusted and swept and vacuumed. I washed linen and cooked veggies for lunch with leftover meat.
I think it is going to be a new Boxing Day tradition that we watch the 1995 BBC version of Pride & Prejudice. We haven’t watched it for ages and so enjoyed sitting down watching the first three parts…
And while we watched the drama of Mr Darcey and Lizzie unfold, I did what the elegant ladies of old did…I cross-stitched…
It was wonderfully relaxing. This morning, before the housework got started, we watched the next part and are now reserving the grand finale for later. I’ve been making great strides with the cross-stitch and looking at the above photo, I can tell you it has grown since them. I’ve started the guitar, so am moving from doing individual blocks to doing chunks of colour. It gives me such a lot of pleasure! 🙂
Another pleasure I have enjoyed these last few days is a magazine David included in his gift to me. I love following the lives of people and seeing how generations change from one to the next. No better subjects than those of the royal family..
Not a magazine I would buy for myself, it was a treat to receive as a gift. I’ve enjoyed reading it and once done, I have, in mind, the right person to whom I can pass it on!
It’s been a lovely stay-at-home holiday!
I’m content. Here’s a truth…
Psalm 146:2
“I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.”
Amen! I will!
Keep the smile going!
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
