Details emerged today that it is possible that Whitney Houston fell asleep in the bath and drowned. I read one report that said her lungs contained water. I read another report that said she had been taking the prescription medication Xanax which has sedatory and relaxant properties. More information will no doubt come to light as the days pass by, although television reports suggest it will take 8 weeks for full disclosure of the cause of death. My prayer is for her family, that they will know the peace of God that passes understanding. I also pray for the many celebrities who also struggle with drug and alcoholism – that this will be a wake up call for them….that they will clean up their act and start taking responsibility for their actions and for the role model part they play. They have so, so much influence – by default, they are the world’s leaders. Without realising it, multitudes follow. This is their moment to shine…. not only to part with money for good causes which so many of them do, but also to display characteristics that are admirable.
Today has been a good day! I managed a snooze at lunchtime, which definitely improves the entire afternoon. I nipped down to the post office…

Today I read one of my favourite Bible verses. It came up in this morning’s Bible reading…
Psalm 34:8 Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.
Yep, it’s all true. In order to enjoy the fruit, you have to taste it. You’ll never find out how good it is, unless you take the first bite.
