Departures and Hard Work

Mondays always dawn really busy and today was no exception. It was made busier by the fact that we are trying to get the plans departures signed.  Furthermore, Mike has been looking for a system that will pick us up when load shedding hits. It’s our thought that as soon as the elections are over on Wednesday, load shedding will start up again. Today we put our order in.

Meantime, the piling at Echo continues and we got an update, which usually means more money is required…great that 5 piles are complete. I think there will be 12 in total now so we are close to half way there.

For the departures, there are 6 neighbours. One has signed. One has visited and seen all the information and has all the forms required and now needs to sign (he is in Johannesburg). One is in Germany and has got all the forms required. His only concern is if his house is close to our new house which it’s not. Mike will put together something on Google Earth and hopefully he will sign too.  At least we have heard from him which is great. Fortunately, he comes out to visit every now and again and on the one occasion, Mike and I happened to be at Echo at the same time as he was and we went up his 60+ steps and introduced ourselves. It was a good move because we just went to say hello and be neighbourly. Now we need something from him, so we had a point of departure.

Then there is the lady who owns the plot behind us on the left. She has emailed a reply to my first email and asked when can she meet.

That leaves the two across the road in front of us, one of whom does not live there. I’ve emailed that person but they have not yet replied. The other wasn’t home the two times I tried. They don’t have an email address of the list the Council supplied.

The Council did not ask us if we wanted to do this. They just sent us the stuff and told us to get on with it. If we had told them we didn’t want to and they must advertise, we wouldn’t need to go to all this trouble. But on the off-chance we will be able to get everyone’s permission, the process will be much quicker.

In between all the emailing and ordering, I’ve managed almost 8 hours work.

Matthew 24:35

Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
