Definitely Not David’s Heart

Saturday

Dear Elsie,

Thank you for your prayers for David today! You are so adorable and Granny loves you more than you know!

We pray so too. One day you will read these words and smile.

David had more left-sided chest pain this morning. We had to do something, so we went through to Melomed Tokai which was a really great call. He was seen immediately. They did another ECG, more bloodwork and an extensive examination. The ER was very quiet and there were no gangsters!  His heart is fine. He is not going to drop dead of a heart attack. There is no heart muscle damage. These are all words he really needed to hear because not knowing was weighing on his mind. His GP didn’t spell this out the other day. He had mentioned viral myocarditis, but then referred him to a physician and not a cardiologist, so we were left a little in the dark. Today, he asked all the questions about all the conditions he’d read online and the doctor reassured him of everything. So now he knows this is most likely a post-Covid thing.  Is he still tired? Yes. Crushing fatigue is how he feels. Is it debilitating? Absolutely. Will it take time to get better? Certainly. How long? Who knows. It may take weeks; it may take days; it may take months. We pray for strength and as I’ve been thinking and praying and reading, there is one verse that comes to mind and it is one on which I hold and dwell.

Isaiah 40:30-31
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

He has run before. He will run again. We are grateful & relieved.

On a more mundane note, the cottage internet began to fail. Mike spent the morning finding the problem and then fixing it. That’s Mike up a ladder…

He struggled for the entire morning and eventually had to take Julian’s router and and put in the cottage. Julian, new Grandpa, only comes in a couple of weeks so we have time to replace his before he gets here.

A day that started with stress and has ended with relief.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
