There were sights to be seen across Cape Town today as South Africans of all shapes, sizes, cultures, colours, creeds and ages took to the streets to demonstrate their desire to see corruption in our country end and to see the country thrive.
Simon’s Town was abuzz with young and old…
In Glencairn, residents braved the wind and joined hands in solidarity…
Fish Hoek was absolutely buzzing as close to about 1000 people swayed and chanted on the Main Road, snaking from close to Sunny Cove all the way to Clovelly.
This was the City Centre…
Look who was spotted protesting in Hermanus….Bishop Tutu…
As I drove around and saw the peaceful suburban protests unfold, I wondered what I would say to the President if I had a chance.
I think the main thing is to acknowledge that his position in South African politics did not arise from his own accord.
Romans 13:1
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
But with that office comes responsibility, honesty, integrity, the good of the people and the land. It’s not a position to abuse in order to benefit one’s own pocket or for the benefit of the elite few.
The words of Jesus captured in Luke 12:48
From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
Mr. Zuma will turn 75 years old on Wednesday next week. He is not getting any younger. He is closer to the end of his life than the beginning. He will have to give an account of his actions here on earth. He will be called to account.
He must do the right thing. Act for the benefit of all South Africans. Take into account Nelson Mandela’s words…
Mr. Zuma, do the right thing – be a president of integrity, of honesty and of humility. It’s time to seek God in all that you do.
We need to humble ourselves and pray.
#255 of my 1000 thanks is for peaceful, united protests in my neck of the woods.
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
