Tuesday
Dear Elsie
Today was the day we heard our northbound 27 night Grand Voyage from Cape Town to Genoa was cancelled due to the unrest in the Red Sea. It is more cost effective for MSC to take the ship back empty than to reroute round the southern Cape and up the West Coast of Africa. I got a call and then received the letter.
Are we disappointed? Absolutely! But there are no surprises with the Lord. He saw this coming. We have (already) got used to the idea and will make a plan. I’ve been trawling through the MSC website looking to see what the options are. I think the most sensible option is just to postpone it a year and go next year – same time frame, same itinerary. Fortunately, we only need tell them at the end of February so we have some time. We do still need to get to Europe because we have an EasyJet flight out of Milan on 3rd May for our cruise with Julian. That’s something wonderful to look forward to and Mike has got used to the idea that he has to fly both ways.
For the rest, I worked 8 hours.
The wind has picked up & there will most likely be no beach visits until the end of the week.
Grateful for the day & I’ve got my puzzle to finish!
Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
It’s not about now – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Gran xx 🙂
