2-10pm
Yesterday was one of those days! A public holiday, which I worked, but as my work ended at 9am, it felt as if I had the day off. Straight from the studio, I drove to Kalk Bay to meet Mike & Julian for breakfast. We went to the Annex restaurant and sat on the terrace overlooking Kalk Bay. It’s lovely there. They had a new comment on the menu…
I LOVE eggs benedict and this comment applied to it, so I immediately ordered it with the courgette and carrot rosti….
Yum! After breakfast, Mike went to the driving range and Julian and I headed for the coast. We decided to go for a long drive. So we headed towards Strand and taking the coast road, drove towards Gordon’s Bay. He remembered a rather large bookshop there. He was not mistaken…we found it and stopped….Bikini Beach Books!
The resident, really fat, lazy cat was doing door duty…not that he took any notice of all the oohs and aahs that went on around him…he slept the whole time…
The shop has thousands of books….
Brother was in his element! He bought a box and then we went on our way. We continued along the coast. To the couple on the motorbike who recognised the sticker on my car, thanks for waving! Good to see you too! π We ended up at Betty’s Bay, where we stopped for coffee at …
A leisurely drive back to Cape Town and we arrived home at 3-30pm. I had time for a short nap. Then we put on our walking shoes and walked 6kmg to Kalk Bay Harbour for dinner. The view was spectacular…..
The harbour was abuzz with people wanting fish from the returning fishing boats…Talking of fish, we had sushi to share as a starter…
….followed by a really scrumptious yellowtail…
That’s what I thought of that!
Home again in time to watch Downtown Abbey. Julian has the whole series so we’ve been watching it bit by bit. Last episode is tonight. By 9pm, I was ready for bed! We had sucked the marrow out of Human Right’s Day 2014!
Recently I ready Psalm 62. Β Trust in Him at all times! Just 6 words to remember and take to heart today. They come from Psalm 62 which begins with “Find rest my soul in God alone.” Verse 8 says, “Trust Him in all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him for God is our refuge.” You cannot go wrong with this. God is trustworthy. You may have been in a situation where you have confided in someone & the next thing you know everyone knows about it. You poured out your soul & whoever you told betrayed you in spreading your confidence. That will never happen when you pour out your heart to God. He is our Refuge. We can trust Him at all times & when we do, our souls find rest in Him. God will never betray you. He is trustworthy. He has your best interest in mind. He knows your pain. He eases your fears. He carries your burdens. He gives you rest. Trusting Him is a no-brainer!
God bless you today!
In His Grip,
Helga xx π
