Choices…

7-15pm

Today I say “well done” to those who were at Colour and yet pressed on and went to church today! After yesterday’s amazing conference, I found myself with an acute case of sensory overload, all “peopled out” and exhausted! So today I did the bare minimum. I woke before 7am and washed Granny’s hair and showered her and then put her back to bed with tea and toasted hot cross buns. Then I went back to bed with coffee and HCB for the Mike & I…

I read, relaxed, made butternut soup and slept! By 5pm, show prep was done and I was so refreshed, I decided to take myself off for a run. I ran 4.3km in 31 mins 30 seconds. I must try and keep it up!

In my Bible reading today, I arrived at the end of Joshua. He is about to die. This is one of his last messages, if not his last, to the Israelites. I guess if the people you are speaking to know you are about to die, they listen a little closer. The message has more urgency. These are some of the last words Joshua will speak…

Joshua 24:15  “But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”

The Israelites  were very quick to say they will serve the Lord. But as the Old Testament unfolds from there-on, you quickly see how they very rapidly fell back on that promise. It’s easy to make a promise in the emotion of the moment. Perhaps you were at the Colour conference and were one of the 600 women who came to faith in Christ. Don’t give up. Press on in faith, knowing that He will never leave you. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Keep on keeping on in Him. If you have not come to faith in Christ, choose this day who you will serve!

As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord!

In His Grip. I cannot think of a better place to be.

Love Helga xx 🙂
