It was 1-53am when I heard my phone vibrating. I answered the unknown number and heard the voice of Justin from the local neighbourhood watch. “Helga!” he said with urgency. “We’ve caught someone and we need Mike to come and take a look. He has the vans shoes with the footprint that you keep seeing.” I woke Mike and he went up the road and round the corner. Mike was pretty sure it was the same man he had seen in our garden two weeks ago. His footprint was the same we had seen outside our backdoor on 1st September and again on 17th September. This was the man. The police were there and they took him away.
I was so happy, but the last time SAPS had taken away a suspicious man on the street in the dead of night, they had let him go.
They did the same with this guy.
An hour later, he was released.
It was so very frustrating.
But at least he now knows he is being watched and that his usual route is being monitored.
We are hoping this is the end of the spate of awful intrusions we have had.
This evening, the door bell rang and we had unexpected visitors. I am sure I must have a photo of them in my media somewhere…yip…John and Avril Thomas popped in for a catch up and to pray with us. What a lovely surprise…this photo was from a couple of years ago.
It was very generous of them to think of us.
After they left, Mike and I paused to pray for them.
#428 of my 1000 thanks is for John and Avril with whom we have journeyed through many of life’s ups and downs. We are privileged to have them as friends. We don’t see them for ages and just take up where we left off. What a blessing.
My journey through Isaiah this morning
Isaiah 46:4
Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
And He has!
He has rescued me in the best way possible.
These are the days!
Keep the smile going!
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
