2-48pm
That’s what we did today! We got up really early, watched the cricket, showered, got dressed and went out for breakfast with Wayne, Rene, Cari and Prof Tim and Marilyn Noakes. It was to say thank you for all the many Sports Talks he has done on Rise and Shine. Also for the time he has recently spent in the studio on LCHF and to wish them a happy 41st wedding anniversary for Tuesday. Naturally, we all had LCHF breakfasts, including Mike who normally would have ploughed his way through several pieces of toast to conclude the meal! With Tim on his left, it was a bit tricky! But Tim did reassure him that probably he is not carb resistant. There are some signs for this. Apart from times of illness, Mike has been just about the same weight for the last about 40 years – that’s a clue that his metabolic system is working well…if it ain’t broke, don’t try and fix it. I’m so glad Mike had the chance to quiz Tim about a few things. There are many things that Tim has said in his Rise and Shine interviews (scroll down to find them: http://helgavan.com/?page_id=4834) that I just can’t absorb at the rate at which he says them. So many times, Mike has asked a number of questions and I haven’t been able to answer them!
I did learn some things today that very much apply to me. If I want to lose more weight than I have done, I have to cut back on my protein intake and suppress the desire to snack when I’m not actually hungry. 🙂
The Big Debate!
This Thursday 6th December 2012 , open to the public at UCT Medical School, Prof Tim Noakes will be debating the LCHF theory. He gave us a sketch of what he will be saying and it’s enlightening to say the least, covering the origin of the corn trade, the myth of cholesterol causing heart disease and how LCHF works. It starts at 6pm, but get there early – space is limited.
Wayne chatting with Marilyn…about cameras, I think.
Wayne’s wife Rene and youngest daughter Cari who is off to study law next year..clever girl…
And so that has been the day, so far. This evening, we go out for dinner with David to celebrate the end of his university career and then settle down for an evening of Downton Abbey.
Should be fun.
Romans 8:37 In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
