So one of my goals for 2019 is to read, apart from the 66 books of the Bible, 12 books.
Julian has been looking out for books for me and giving me suggestions. I’ve started one that Mike really enjoyed just to get me into disciplining myself to put down my technology and pick up a book. The first I’m reading is Steve Martini’s Double Tap. Julian has also suggested Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Jane Austen’s Persuasion. I’ve read Pride and Prejudice a few times, but may read it again.
There are loads of lists of books that everyone should read at least one, so the options for reading are endless. Other titles I want to read are Cry the Beloved Country and maybe To Kill a Mockingbird. I think reading one a month is going to be a good goal to try to achieve. I don’t think Julian believes I’ll do it. He is a prolific reader and probably is the most well read person I know.
Today has been quiet and restful. Julian only leaves tomorrow, so he is here right now along with David. Together with Mike they are watching a documentary on OJ Simpson. I will go and join them in a bit. We’ll have breakfast tomorrow with him and then David will take him to the airport.
I have lots of work waiting for me so tomorrow will be a busy day. I’m looking forward to it.
1 Corinthians 8:6
There is one God, the Father by whom all things were created, and for whom we live. And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things were created, and through whom we live.
Amen!
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
