4-30pm
This weekend has been my early birthday celebration. Friday was Mike’s company’s golf competition. About 20 x 4 balls teed off to do battle. It was a competition between departments from the City of Cape Town. Mike & 3 others entered from the Property section. Mike played his best golf. All the practice paid off and his contribution assisted in VICTORY for his team…..well done, Grant, Andre, Mike & Mike….
Big bragging rights tomorrow at work! 😀
When we got home, (close to 8pm) the family had arrived – Julian from Jo’burg, Adrian and Stacey from Swellendam. It was a great beginning to what has been a fabulous weekend.
Saturday morning, we all gathered for breakfast…at AP Jones in Fish Hoek, now run by the famous Elly from Ellie’s Deli…
The rest of the morning, I made the recipe for yesterday’s blog and in the afternoon, we had the funnest time. As a birthday present from Stacey and Adrian, they had arranged a photo shoot at Tokai arboretum. Lots of laughter with the most special people in my life…here’s Stacey having a couple of shots on her own…I only woke up to remembering to take some of my own photos just before the end…
Such a magnificent venue….I missed the one with all 4 of the men and only got these three…
It was really a great idea and super gift. I am sure I’ll post a couple of them here when we get the professional ones back. Home again, we had a quick walk before going out for dinner. These are all gratitude pics. This one is just a really special feeling of Mike & I being chauffeured to dinner….special people, special evening…
Today, Adrian and Stace left for Swellendam quite early and I spent the day with Julian. After breakfast, we went back to Tokai Arboretum….
….to walk and enjoy the forest and scenery….
We walked up the path that takes you to Elephant’s Eye. Eventually, you come out of the forest and a lot of the rest of the walk is in the sunshine, so we didn’t venture on…one day perhaps….Elephant’s Eye is a cave in the side of the mountain near Constantiaberg mast…
Then we sat in the shade under the trees at the Lister’s restaurant and drank tea…
Our next stop was Hout Bay where David was playing for Paige Mac…
There was a real vibe going on there. The market was buzzing! All too soon, it was time to take Julian to the airport. I arrived home, had tea and have now officially written the blog and summarised my 50th birthday weekend festivities. I only turn 50 on Wednesday and most of the celebrations are over. The gifts have been given, the dinners had, the outings complete. My family have been overly generous. I need nothing more. My cup is full.
Mark 12:30-31 – Words of Jesus…
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”
There is no greater commandment than these…good to remember!
Thank-you my wonderful family for the love!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
