Yay! I’m 53 today! Over the last number of years, I’ve made a note of where I have been and what I have done on my birthday. It’s pretty easy to do seeing as I have been blogging for a while.
- 2011 – At home celebrating with the family – Stacey and Adrian, David and Mike and Granny.
- 2012 – Worked in the morning, had lunch with David & Skyped with Stacey (who was overseas). Mike cooked dinner.
- 2013 – I was in San Gimignano, Italy
- 2014 – I turned 50 – went for a 10km walk over Silvermine (and injured my Achilles tendons)
- 2015 – I worked probably about 8 hours. I was very busy and grateful to have work.
- 2016 – I worked probably about 6 hours that day.
- 2017 – I had a lovely quiet day with family! Mike bought me breakfast in bed. Had morning coffee with Julian and David, lunch at Barracudas and a bit of a windy (short) walk on the beach.
Now I am sitting in bed, having just got off the phone to my sister. Birthdays are wonderful occasions to catch up!
#468 of my 1000 thanks is for 53 happy, healthy years. So grateful!
Yesterday when we went to the Stag, Ellen, one of the ladies who does the baking there, stopped to say hello. She remembered me from a Bible study I went to a few years ago (2014) just after I left CCFm. She couldn’t remember my name and I couldn’t remember hers, so once we had got that straightened out, she said, I do remember your story of Psalm 46.
My heart warmed. Oh yes, Psalm 46:5.
God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.
What a wonderful promise from God and such encouragement for me early one Friday morning when I was feeling so very unable. You can read the story here. I reflected it upon a few years ago. God is faithful!
