3-10pm
There I was, sitting at my desk doing music prep at about 10am when suddenly there was a big bang…right outside the CCFm building. We rushed onto the balcony to see what had happened. A older man was shouting at the top of his voice “Why did you do that? Why did you do that? Look what you’ve done!” The man had been driving a modern looking grey car – at that point I couldn’t tell which make. An old beaten up bakkie clearly hadn’t seen him coming and turned right across his path.
Being a grey car and a bright day and it being sandwiched between sparkling blue sky and grey tarmac, maybe it was camouflaged a bit, but regardless of the reason, the deed was done. The car was a wreck. Oil spilled all over the road. The offended man was furious!
The people came out in droves to have a look. Here’s the bakkie being pushed out the way. The other car is already off the road….
And that’s oil all over the road. The police came and the ‘vultures’ arrived (towing vehicles!), but it was only when I got downstairs that I understood the man’s pain…2 seater Merc…
An unexpected interruption for this driver. Ah well, you can’t take it with you!
Matthew 6:19 (Jesus speaking) “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”.
When the unexpected happens, you do need to allow yourself some time to get over it. I’m sure these drivers will too, poor guys! Thankfully, there was no blood!
I met David for brunch at the beach which was cool. Then I went to the Mall and had tea with my friends! A bit of shopping and home to check and send some emails.
It’s Friday wrapped up in Tuesday. Tomorrow is Human Rights Day and South Africa has a public holiday. I get to be in the Rise & Shine studio from 6-9am AGAIN!! Yippee!! 🙂
Chicken pie and salad for dinner. Perhaps an evening walk. Right now, I think I’ll have a snooze! Missing Monty 🙁 but I absolutely know it was for the best.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
