Bible Study Over the Fence

Not long ago, Mike and I had a late night, lying in bed in the dark conversation about what to say to Jehovah’s Witnesses when they knocked at our door. It is always such a confrontational encounter, where argument is commonly the outcome. We discussed different strategies – Mike with  his and me with mine.

Today, the doorbell rang and there were a couple of friendly JWs. Mike went out to greet them. Afterwards he told me what he said. He asked them to read a verse from their bible and quizzed them on that. When they were stumped, he said, “Okay, do you believe the Lord’s prayer?” “Yes!” they said. So they turned to that and there over the fence Mike led them in a study of the Lord’s prayer. They did not know it off by heart, which I was surprised at. It was something I learned at school…we recited it in assembly. But Mike left them amicably with the Lord’s prayer having been planted in their heart.

Today has been a full working day with a few challenges and concerns thrown in for good measure. Anyway, at the time of writing this, all is well and Mike and I are about to go for a walk.

On our way out, we noticed Truffles sharing her space with a hadada…not that she looks in the slightest bit concerned…

Mike made spaghetti bolognaise for dinner and it was delicious!

#346 of my 1000 thanks is the pleasure I get out of Wimbledon. Federer is playing now. South African Kevin Anderson went through to the second round yesterday!

The days pass by so quickly. We need to enjoy and embrace every single one.

Psalm 144:4

Man is like a mere breath; His days are like a passing shadow.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx
