11-20am
It’s been a lovely 24 hours…arriving at Berachah Guest House in Malmesbury. We got here at just before 2pm and started off by finding my little spot in Malmesbury…
After registration, a few of us went for a walk along the nearby river, which is so picturesque…
There are some lovely spring flowers around…
Berachah has also been known as Almond Bridge…
Berachah is surrounded by a lovely garden…
It was soon teatime and we were welcomed with tea and cupcakes…when the ladies at the table saw me taking a photo, they knew it would be for my blog and said I must call the blog, “Life is a cupcake!”
Then a whole bunch of us sat outside on the veranda chatting. I took my cross-stitch with me. It was great. Time passed gently by.
We had dinner and then gathered to sing and have fun! There were a few games that had us roaring with laughter – there were only a few injuries!
Hot chocolate and marshmallows ended the evening before I retired to shower and then I sat in an upstairs lounge and chatted with more new and old friends. (Extrovert paradise – introverts happily went off to bed!) At just before 11pm, I headed off to bed. I slept well and woke up around 7ish. Breakfast was at 8-30am, after which was a morning devotion. The theme of the weekend is drawing near to God. The speaker Glynn gave a very easy to understand talk about knowing God and how to draw closer to Him. A powerful illustration wrapped up the talk with three people, depicting the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, tightly encircling one of the ladies. That’s how God is with us. We are in His Grip! Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It was a great visual.
There have been lots of conversations had and it’s been really good, sowing into each other’s lives and learning from each other.
I had to smile. Liz Kampers is a real role model. For my close family and friends, you know I’ve been saying (100s of times), I’m turning 50! Well, Liz and Rob have been married FIFTY-FOUR years! That was just so amazing to hear. She got married 4 years before I was born. She is such an example. This is what I mean about age being ‘just a number’ and it is ‘all relative.’ In her eyes, I am still SO young! For the 20+ age group, half over the hill! You have got to love how life is a great leveller and that ultimately, our lives are in God’s hands. We need to live and embrace each day. It is a gift from God & we can live it confidently…
Isaiah 46:4
I will be your God throughout your lifetime–until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
