9-11am
It’s been a fab weekend. Yesterday I did a walk-walk-run (that’s where I mainly walk, but after every kilometre, I run for a few hundred metres). In the afternoon we watched cricket & cheered every run the Proteas made. After dinner with friends last night, we got home in time for GOLF! It’s the world matchplay champs featuring South Africans Louis Oosthuisen & Ernie Els. It was nail biting. Louis got knocked out but Ernie got through to the semi -finals. Only thing is that this is American time, so we went to bed at 1am! I can’t do that again tonight! If Ernie wins he will be, at 44, the oldest golfer to claim the title! Go Ernie!
Exciting stuff. I really, really want him to win!
This morning we went to church…
Pastor Allan preached an excellent message on Gideon. He doesn’t preach often, but when he does, it’s always well thought out, applicable, has plenty of illustrations and is sprinkled with his dry sense of humour! We loved it! Good job!
Home for cricket…what a blessing to hear the band at St. Georges Park in Port Elizabeth play “As the Deer”. That was genius. Just the music, no singing, so unchurched would think it was a nice piece of music. Churched would be singing out loud or humming along or raising their hands and marvelling at the music to this beautiful hymn being beamed across the world…
As the deer pants for the water
So my soul longs after thee
You alone are my heart’s desire
And I long to worship You
You alone are my strength, my shield
To you alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart’s desire
And I long to worship You!
AMEN!
Go South Africa! The declaration has been made. South Africa have to get 10 wickets before the end of play tomorrow. Australia have 448 runs to get to win. Hope the weather doesn’t mess things up…
A new week is ahead. Someone came up with this suggestion to keep happy…
It’s a pretty brilliant strategy. The only thing I would add is to PRAY and read the Bible. Guaranteed to make for a better week.
Romans 15:4
For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Hope! It’s what we all need!
God bless you today!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
