Sunday (sorry I forgot to publish this yesterday)
Dear Elsie
Today is the last day of 2023. Julian and I went to Tokai Forest which is looking beautiful.
It was shady and quite protected from the wind. There were not a lot of people around but some had come down for a picnic which was an ideal activity for the last day of 2023.
Mike meanwhile, went for a 6km run! By the time we got home, he had too and was feeling tired but good.
We had a roast dinner and now the family are up here for a coffee. My intention for tonight is to sleep until just before midnight and then get up to stand on the balcony and quietly see 2024 arrive.
Goodbye 2023.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.
