Back to Work

I got up really early this morning. I watched Julian land in Johannesburg after his overnight 8 hour flight from Dubai. So happy he is home safe and sound.

Then, leaving Mike tucked up in bed, with the wind howling, I drove down to the gym and got on with it.

Home, shower, work.

About 10am, I had breakfast. I worked just over 6 hours altogether. That was a perfect start. This evening David, Jess and Gerrie are coming round – in fact they will be here in an hour, so I thought I would get this posted and then pop the pasta bake in the oven.

We took a lunchtime break and did some shopping. Later, Werner the builder came to pick up the plans. He should get us the quote by 20th January, so we’ll know how much he expects us to pay for our new house!

I went to the kitchen to make get something to drink and found a dove had got trapped inside. It kept flapping against the right-hand window, not realising it needed to literally go 20cm to the left and it would get out. Eventually, with it becoming more and more hysterical, I marched up to the window and  opened it. Panic struck, it finally found freedom.  It’s mate was flying about outside waiting for it to arrive. Poor birds.

Today has been windy, but truly, it must have been one of the least windy summers in a long time. Day after day, the hours have passed warm and sultry with very little wind. I think it blows today and tomorrow and then over the weekend it settles down again.

It’s been a good day.

This Bible verse grips me every time I read it. It takes me back to  my 14th year when I first read the book of John. I had such clarity when I read these words for the first time.

John 1:12

As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His Name.

When I read them, I felt so privileged to have the right to become a child of God because I believed in His Name.  That’s what Jesus did for me.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
