Saturday
Dear Elsie
Today we had tea with a previous neighbour. Many years ago, Philomena lived across the road from our Sun Valley house. She had two children, Paul and Hannah. Hannah became good friends with Stacey as they were the same age. In time, they moved away and went back to England but Philomena regularly returns to Cape Town on holiday. Today she came to have tea with her partner Dominic.
We spent a leisurely afternoon catching up. To return to the UK, they are doing the northbound cruise on the ship we cruised south on, so Cape Town to Venice and had a number of questions. They are prolific travellers and have been all over the world and seemingly visited every continent and gone to some really far away places. They had lots of stories to tell. It was great to see them and I’m sure we will see them again before they leave.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, I had got some exercise. If I can’t get to swim because of the wind, I like to walk. I set off at about 7:30am and decided to walk up the hills and jog down them, so that’s what I did. I got a good workout, completing a circuit of about 4.5km. Home for a shower before I was treated to eggs on toast by Mike. That was a lovely treat!
And now it’s evening time. The wind is still blowing but expected to abate a little tomorrow. No wonder there is so much rain in Gauteng. It does look like we are in for some lovely wind free days in the week ahead.
Psalm 7:10
My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart.
The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Gran xx 🙂
