2017 is here! Happy New Year! I saw the new year in paddling in the warm Fish Hoek sea! It was amazing! Last night as I pondered the start of a new year, I came up with an A-Z of coping in 2017.
Adaptability – Life throws curve balls. Learn to adapt to the unexpected events that come your way.
Bible – Read a bit each day – start with the book of John in the New Testament. Once you’ve read that, go to Matthew and read through all the Gospels.
Courage – Be brave – times are hard.
Demonstrative – Show love. The world craves it. Be a Doer of the Word and not a hearer only.
Enthusiasm – Regardless of what you do, be enthusiastic. When things get tough, practice enthusiasm. You will be amazed at the effect it has on people around you. Eat right. Exercise regularly.
Faith – Never lose your faith. Trust in God always. Nurture your Friendships. Be Flexible. (Proverbs 3:5&6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.)
Generosity – Give to others using good words and deeds and gifts.
Humility – Remain humble and Hospitable.
Individuality – express your unique self. Comparison is toxic. You are who you are. Accept yourself and others.
Jesus – He is God – believe.
Kindness – Be kind to others and yourself.
Love – Love covers a multitude of sins.
Money – Spend less than you earn.
Never Give Up!
Optimistic – Look on the bright side. God is in control.
Prayerful – God listens.
Quick to listen – (James 1:19 Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry..). Be quick to forgive.
Reliable – Don’t let people down. Be Respectful. Being late is disrespectful.
Sense of Humour – Don’t ever lose it. Smile often.
Thankful – Have an attitude of gratitude every single day. Be thankful for TODAY every day!
Understanding – Things are never as they seem. Most times we only know one side of the story. Don’t presume to know what is going on in someone else’s life. Give them the benefit of the doubt. Understand that people are different and have had to walk a different road to you.
Variety – Do something different this year. Make a plan to add some variety to your life. Plan a vacation and give yourself something to look forward to. Variety is the spice of life.
Walk – Never stop moving. Try and get some exercise. Walk, run, cycle, swim, climb – whatever you choose, keep moving.
X-factor – We all have gifts – find yours and use it. Excel in all your do. Be as good as you can be.
Youthful – No matter how old you are, have fun. Enjoy each stage of life. Mix with people younger than yourself. Stay young at heart.
Zealous – Be passionate about your life and the love you have for your family. Be their greatest fans. Love your spouse, Cherish and compliment them daily. Have Zest for life.
# 149 of my 1000 thanks is that I get to experience 2017! I am grateful!
These are the days!
Keep the smile going!
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
