3-42pm
A lovely Sunday today. We went to church and then had lunch. David came round and after we’d eaten lamb stew, he and I trundled off to see Granny. She looked well. We told all the old ladies that if David worked there he would organise a ‘wheelchair grand prix’ lining them all up in wheelchairs and speeding them around a track!! They didn’t seem to take to the idea so much! We took Gran down to the garden and pushed her round enjoying the sun, the squirrel and the marigolds…
….I think they are a variety of marigold. Then we went and sat in the shade and that was when 88 year old Alice and 85 year old Beryl came up to have a little chat…
Alice(in the pink jacket) has been at the Ladies Christian Home for 6 months and Beryl for 3. Alice spent 40 years in Brazil. They were both chatty, with Beryl keen for us to look at a photo she had cut out of the newspaper of a monkey sitting on the back of a lion cub who is also hanging out with two tiger cubs…she asked me if I could take a photo of it to show others…so I did…. I told her I could show a few people! 😉
Cute. She said she is enjoying being at the LCH. “You just have to choose your friends,” she said. They seem to be great friends. We all need each other. We chatted together with Alice telling me that there is an Anglican communion service tomorrow morning at 9-30am in the Frail care section of LCH. Granny would LOVE to go. I was pleased to know about it and left a note, asking for someone to take her down. After a while, we said goodbye and then they linked arms and off they went…
Romans 14:19 So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.
Good advice!
So now we are home and about to have tea!
The new week lies ahead. It’s going to be a good one!
God bless you loads!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
