3-30pm
That’s what it’s been – a walking, talking, praying, laughing, weekend. Getting to better know the women at my church has been fabulous. We have laughed together and cried, prayed, walked, talked and eaten! It’s been 48 hours of fun and teaching and I have arrived home better for it.
Berachah in Malmesbury is ideal for this kind of church getaway. I sat on a chair on the stoep and admired the beautiful garden view…
There are tables and chairs in the garden as well…
After an inspirational morning meeting and then lunch, in the afternoon, a bunch of us headed up to the electricity post at the top of a nearby koppie (thanks Hanno for the right spelling!!)….this was our destination….
We walked up a steep road to get there…
….passing a beautiful array of spring flowers…
The view at the top was amazing…
In the afternoon, we heard a message about coping in difficult times. It ended with a meaningful time or prayer. Hard times will come. They are only made easier in knowing that God is in control and can be a Foundation of security, if you let Him. It’s our choice. We choose to trust Him in good times and bad. His way is perfect and He won’t let you down. You can rely on God. James 4:8
“Come near to God and He will come near to you.”
And that’s exactly what happened. We came near to God.
In the evening, we all let our hair down and had a fabulous fun time of games. One of the things we had to do was get into groups and choose a ‘model’ to dress up in a black bag. We were given a whole lot of stuff to use and had to get on with it. The entertainment was laced with laughter and an amazing amount of creativity. Our ‘model’ would wow the catwalks of the fashion industry. Glynnis was born to strut….she did so well…in her black bag and sunflower fund bandana….
All the ladies had a blast and looked great….
And so our retreat ended and after lunch and an easy hour and a half drive back to Cape Town, I am home!
A wonderful time was had by all! I hope to be back next year! We were well looked after by Berachah Guest House.
Keep the smile going!
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
Gratitude Pic…back home with loved ones…
