I once had a plan to try and make money through writing and in a very small way I am doing just that, but not to the extent I thought of.
I thought that if I could get 25 clients, all who need one blog a week, I could write 5 blogs per day, 5 days a week and make about $500 per week.
BUT!
Do you know how hard it would be to write 5 blogs a day, 5 days a week, month in and month out? (Excluding of course my own daily blog!)
My creative brain doesn’t work that efficiently to get a good job done, so right now I write 3 blogs a month for a company in the Maldives. I’ve written one and today I need to write the final two.
I can only just manage that!
I did, however, do something really bad. I know why I did it, it’s because it was there and it looked fun and it was up for grabs. I applied for another writing job on Upwork, so I’m in negotiations with an American lady who wants me to write about her trip to Kenya. What’s good about this is that it is once off. Two hours, job done!
I hope.
I don’t actually have time for extra work and that’s why I say it’s bad. I succumbed to temptation. With Edvectus, after working with them through Upwork for 2 years, we were able to start working directly with each other, so my Upwork work is only with the Maldives blogs. Mike once said any money I can raise on Upwork is ‘travel money’ so I have a little motivation to add a bit more to the travel fund when I am able.
I’ll make time for this. 2 hours. How hard can it be?! Let’s hope she chooses me. She may not, which will be okay.
My plan for today is to write one Maldives blog before I leave for my ladies’ meeting and then one this afternoon and with me writing all this down on this blog, that’s the third done. It will be a Three-Blog Day! That I can manage. More would be difficult.
#241 of my 1000 thanks is for progress made in getting the visa documentation in order for successful applicants. 18 done (30 pages each). 30 to go. There will be more, but 48 applicants is what I’m working on at the moment. Good progress! #Grateful
In my Bible reading I’ve got up to Deuteronomy and am reading the account of Moses not seeing the promised land. He asked….pleaded in fact…
Deuteronomy 3:23-25
At that time I pleaded with the Lord: 24 “Sovereign Lord, you have begun to show to your servant your greatness and your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do the deeds and mighty works you do? 25 Let me go over and see the good land beyond the Jordan—that fine hill country and Lebanon.”
But that was not God’s plan at that time. Moses would see it from afar but he would not go over to see it…..for many centuries. More than 1000 years later, Jesus came and when He went up a mountain in Israel (the promised land), He took with Him Peter, James and John. God took with Him Moses and Elijah.
God always has a plan.
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
