1-56pm
Yesterday, after I posted my blog, I started feeling a bit ‘fluey’. I had to attend last nights eye clinic at CCFm. I didn’t feel well at all, but off I went and was there for about an hour registering the attendees. And there were lots of them….
…right around the corner…and up the street!
I was stopped by Alvena who says she regularly listens to Rise and Shine…
I hope I didn’t give her my germs!
By the time I left we had already registered 100 people and the people in this long queue were waiting patiently for their turn.
After I got home, and had a shower I found my temperature had crept up to 38.1C. I have not had a temperature like that for some years. I got hold of Lynwen and asked her to do tomorrow’s show and I put myself to bed. This morning when I woke up, I felt as bad as last night, so was very glad I didn’t have to go into work. What’s so interesting is what I felt like eating. When I was a very small child and I got sick, my mom would give me mashed banana and coke. This morning, ALL I felt like was coke! Eventually at just after 6am, after Mike had gone to work, I pulled some clothes on and went down to the all night shop and bought two litres of coke. I came home and had toast with sliced banana and coke! Oh it tasted so good. “Flu Food”…
After sleeping for a while, I got up and prepared for an 11am ‘can’t miss’ appointment with Lucinda and Kristin from Hillsong Church. It’s all to do with their women’s Colour Conference on 20th/21st April. CCFm will be advertising it. To ensure I was up to this appointment, I took two flutex and an hour later two myprodol, ensuring no body aches and high temperature. It worked well. Lucinda and Kristin….
Colour Conference is 10 weeks away. Cape Town girls this is one NOT to be missed. The Ladies Conference of the year. If you only attend one conference this year, make it the Colour Conference. It is going to be great! Here is the link http://colourconference.com/cape-town Register before the end of this month for a R49 discount.
I met Lucinda and Kristin at a restaurant called Red. I arrived a bit early and the waitress (whose name is Abigail) came to take my order. I told her I was waiting for someone & I’d wait for them to arrive before I ordered. After she left my table, I thought ‘Darn! I should have asked her for a glass of water. I am so thirsty!’ Not 5 minutes later, she walked up to my table, put a glass of water down and started to walk away! I was gobsmacked! It was as if she had read my mind! I said to her, ‘how did you know?’ She laughed and said, ‘I thought you may want a glass of water while you wait!’ I was so reminded of the Bible verse in Isaiah…
Isaiah 65:24 God says “Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.”
The Lord sees our thoughts. Trust Him today and He will answer you, even before you call!
When I got home, I was pleased to see Granny up and dressed and having lunch. She is feeling better…back to normal, so it all looks good in the van Niekerk household today! I’m figuring if I take two flutex at 4am tomorrow morning and 2 myprodol at5am, I’ll be good to do Rise and Shine tomorrow! That’s my plan anyway. Right now though, I’m going to post this and do what every person on sick leave should do, I’m going to sleep!
God bless you!
Well or sick, we’re in His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
