A Good Day for David

Friday

Dear Elsie

Today was a good day for David but not such a good day for you! You have tonsillitis! This seems to be a right of passage for 5-year olds. It’s very uncomfortable, but you will get better soon.

Yesterday was not such a good day for David. His fatigue was at a different level and he had unexpected chest pain and palpitations. Worse symptoms = good news. The medication is working. Today he feels he has a bit more energy and is not as bad as yesterday. He took it super easy today. He had some work to do & once done scheduled a call with his manager. He had a frank conversation with him regarding the slowness of his recovery and said the August deadline may now not be possible. The response was more than David could have hoped for. The company will let him take as much time as he needs, even if he only goes to China next year. They have had to wait for teachers before and they are happy to wait for David.  After some discussion about how many of the classes are moving from being online to in-class,  David has said on a Saturday and Sunday he can start at 6am SA time, which will open up more opportunities for him. The outcome was very positive. The school will accommodate him for as long as needed.  Lots to be grateful for.

Despite it being a public holiday, I worked most of the day. I also went and did a big shop. Another storm is brewing and more rain will lash the Cape tonight and tomorrow. The dam levels are going to be close to full by the time this week is over. I’ll be sure to watch out for those details on Monday.

Last night we went for a walk to the end of the beach. It was good to be able to do this again. Sea, surfer and navy ship.

It’s looking very foreboding now.

Weekend! Tomorrow I think I’ll be hanging out at home.

Psalm 119:77
Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
