A Difficult Morning

We all have days like this. When we woke up this morning, there was the ongoing issue that had not yet been resolved of the insurance claim we needed to put in for the stolen laptop. We had gone to the police station and got a case number, but the insurance company wanted a whole lot of stuff and it was really irritating Mike that it had not yet been done. Drastic action needed to be taken and that included throwing my whole normal routine out the window, bailing out of gym and helping him get this sorted.

What added to the frustration is that we had mislaid documents pertaining to the insurance and so the search was on to find them. You know what it is like when you can’t find something and get all hot and bothered trying to find it? Yip. That was us this morning. Then amidst it all, an important work email arrived that I had to deal with. The only thing was that the internet had ground to a pathetic slow rate due to WINDOWS UPDATES! My frustration levels went up a few more notches.

I laboured through sorting that email and then returned to the insurance issue. We found all the documents, then we had to scan them in. New laptop, new scan issue. Got that sorted, scanned the whole lot in and I have just hit send!

Yay!

#48 of my thousand thanks – the insurance claim is IN!

#49 of my thousand thanks – the Window Updates are now DONE!

These days happen. Irritations sent to really annoy and frustrate. But in the big picture, ultimately, it’s less important than we realise.

Good stuff does come out of it. when you work in a huff and a puff, things get done. You do drastic things like pull stuff off shelves and are then forced to clean them up. We reshuffled and sorted and tossed out stuff and now are enjoying a bit more of an organised environment. To say it was a difficult morning is how I found it, but ‘difficult’ is a relative term.

I’ve had Floyd and Sally McClung on my mind. They are going through the dark days of very difficult circumstances and Sally is reaching out to God, trusting Him and depending wholly on Him for her strength. Floyd is suffering with what is called a ‘locked in’ syndrome. It is possible that he knows what is going on around him but cannot respond. That takes ‘difficult’ to a different level. For such a vibrant, active servant of God it is difficult to see and hear about. We can but pray for them both, knowing that God is sovereign and that nothing will happen to them (or us) without God’s permission, His presence and His purpose being worked out in our lives.

Isaiah 55:8

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.”

We have to just keep going. God is trustworthy. We don’t need to worry -THAT is something to be thankful for every single day.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
