Monday
Dear Elsie
Today was a different Monday. Mondays are always very busy for me because I’ve got all the email from the weekend to catch up on. Monday, I get stuck in and it’s often an 8-hour working day. I knew today was going to be busy so I worked for over an hour last night, which was very helpful. It meant this morning I could go to support my friend Bev after the loss of her husband Ronnie.
As we get older we are seeing more of our age group go to heaven. It’s not our parents’ generation who are passing now – it’s ours! I am so grateful for the hope we have as Bible believing Christians in knowing where we go when we die. It gives us peace that our goodbyes are not forever.
So, I went to the start of the service and stayed until just after 11am – then I needed to get home for my 11.30am weekly work meeting.
I worked until just after 2pm, when I got into my swimming costume and headed for the beach because Ingrid and Jo were planning on an afternoon swim at 2.30pm. I had a wonderful hour long swim and then walked home all salty!
Dinner is done and now it’s time for a quiet evening.
Whenever I go swimming, I try recall what I have read in my morning Bible reading. My brain is so quick to forget, so it’s always good for me to reopen my Bible at this time of the day and find a verse from it for my Blog. There is always treasure.
Psalm 29:10-11
The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever. The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.
It’s not about now – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Gran xx 🙂
