A Day Off…

2-20pm

This is JUST what the Dr would have ordered! Yesterday Mike got flu’ ping-pong back to him. After getting it a few weeks ago, yesterday he came home with it again. By last night I was also feeling slightly flu’ish being a big ‘bunged up’ and headachy. I decided to send my apologies for Bible study this morning and head home. I still went in to do Rise and Shine though. On a Friday I come in after Elliot and Nyameka…they are always cheerful and friendly! Love them…

I also took a pic of Rise and Shine essentials…

The show went off well. Right after it, I came home and when I arrived, Renรฉ was there to cut Granny’s hair. I was so happy about that…so was Granny. Miranda also arrived to bring Granny a Bible verse. Miranda is one of the world’s incredibly special people. I don’t even know if she knows it! She sows into others’ lives and touches them with love in small simple ways that leave an impression. Thank you Miranda! ๐Ÿ™‚ Here is the haircut….

I then went upstairs, climbed into bed and slept for an hour and a half! Oh! Oh! Oh! It was so so good!ย  Mike offered to do “lunch”…. this was JUST what I felt like….

So now the rain is falling outside and I’m inside tucked up warmly. With this morning’s Focus on the Family being with Joni Eareckson Tada, I found an older book of hers on my bookshelf, so that’s my afternoon reading sorted…

She knows what’s she talking about!

The Serenity Prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr (written in 1943 and included in a sermon he preached)

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Amen.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Oh yes, happily in His Grip,

Love Helga xย  ๐Ÿ™‚
