A Day For Granny…

5-18pm

Today, Rene came and cut Granny’s hair. She looked and felt much better. Then Mike took the afternoon off. Earlier this week, he had gone down to the bank to draw money from her account and the ATM swallowed her card…oops.

Mike has full power of attorney but the bank wanted to make sure she was still alive, so this afternoon, he took her down to the bank. She managed to sign and her card was duly returned.

That done promptly, they went shopping and she bought a LOT of biscuits as well as a cushion and a nightie! Meanwhile, I was having my haircut and met up with Mike & Granny for an early supper.

Here we are, Granny and I …

I had grilled fish and stirfry…

Now we are home. Mike is off to a meeting. I am off to do show prep. It has been a beautifully sunny day with more expected tomorrow…

This morning, I began reading Song of Songs.

Song of Songs 2:4 “He has taken me to the banquet hall and His banner over me is love.”

What an amazing book of the Bible. Song of songs draws a parallel between Christ and His bride. It is a poignant love story of Christ and us! Of His pursuit of us and His great love for us. The Amplified Version adds to this verse, “for love waved as a protecting and comforting banner over my head when I was near Him.”God takes each one of us from a place of darkness to a place of blessing and hope and grace. One of the commentators, Jamieson-Fausset-Brown says “After having rescued us from the enemy, our victorious Captain seats us at the banquet, inscribed with His Name – Love. His love conquered us to Himself, this banner rallies round us the forces of omnipotence as our protection. It marks to what country we belong – Heaven, the abode of love, and in what we most glory, the cross of Jesus Christ.”

In His Grip, Under the Banner of His Love,

Precious!

Helga xx 🙂
