5 Really Important Things God Wants You To Know

We all carry baggage into adulthood with us – today I had lunch with a friend, Mary, who I have not seen for years. We had a lot of catching up to do. She was a diagnosed with an “incurable” disease.  Covered with painful,  ulcerating blisters, the doctors said they could try and control it, but they couldn’t cure it. Incurable by man’s standards, yes, but absolutely NOT incurable by God.  But it wasn’t an easy journey. Mary was ANGRY at God….furious in fact. In devastating pain, alone in the inky black dead of  night, she would scream “HELP!” at God!  And nothing would change.  God did not soothe the pain. He did not drop a Bible verse into her head. God seemingly was silent.

How does someone live with that? How do you survive? How can you continue to have faith? “God where are you?”  But Mary did continue to have faith. She didn’t stop trusting in Him. She had done everything to live up to God’s standards. She tried to earn her healing. She followed the rules. Nothing worked.

Then one day, she went to a prayer meeting and a young man came and knelt next to her. He told her that God had seen her tears and heard her cries in the middle of the night – and, they were like prayers to Him. Mary was stunned. Her anguished, angry screams were like prayer? God loved her regardless of how she spoke to Him.  That was a major step in her healing process. As she found healing within, her body began to heal on the outside and now here she is, no more pain, embracing life, appreciating what God has done, giving Him the glory…Her arm today…

What a treat to meet her for lunch. We must do it again soon!

But it got me thinking of 5 Really Important Things God Wants You To Know:

1. He loves you.
2. There is nothing you can do that will make Him love you more. There is nothing you can do that will make Him love you less.
3. You cannot earn His love.
4. You don’t have to live up to His expectations.
5. You can trust Him with everything.

I don’t know what you are going through. But I do know this for 100% certainty:  God knows. God knows the state of your health. And He loves you whether you are sick or well, whether complete healing comes or it doesn’t . He wraps His arms around you and draws you close…

  But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39

Yes, God loves us.
