Yesterday I began my blog with something about it being the hottest month of the year. Today, 35°C forecast for Cape Town Airport, 37°C for the City Centre – spare a thought for those in Paarl who will be trying to find reprieve from the mercury screaming up the thermometre to a sizzling 40°C. I went out early and watered the garden.
Then it was Bible reading and off to church. Julian stayed home and ‘Granny-sat’.
After church, we booked to go out for lunch … …and soon were ordering fish and salad. Granny showed a lot of interest in Stacey’s cell phone cover which she made using double ended knitting needles ‘in the round’….
We came home and lazed around outside, trying to escape the heat…
Mike discovered a great way of cooling down the patio was by spraying the shadecloth. For a short while a wonderfully cool breeze blew through having an air-conditioner effect. Aah, lovely!
Julian leaves for the airport in a few hours time. His trip to Cape Town was the pits, as he was sitting in front of three rowdy, drunken yobs intent on making life miserable for all those in the rear of the plane! I hope for his sake that their return flight is not the same as his! We are about to go for a little drive! One way to escape the heat, get in an air-conditioned car!
The Bible verse that jumped out at me this morning is from the Psalms.
Psalm 29:10 The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever.
It doesn’t matter what you are going through. As the Lord sits enthroned over the flood, He sits enthroned over your troubles. Nothing escapes His notice and He will see you through. Hang in there!
I’ve just checked the temperature: 31.4C in our bedroom. A cool 29 on the patio!
Hope you’ve had a fabulous weekend and that the week ahead is a good one!
God bless you loads!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
