Fat Bombs & More LCHF Websites…

2-44pm

I have been trawling Low Carb, High Fat websites. Suddenly, there are 100s of them. I googled “LCHF menus” and found a website called www.lowcarbfriends.com. This is their menu page… a whole lot of different contributors add what they have been eating…

LCHF Eating Suggestions

One of the things they keep saying they are eating are FAT BOMBS. So I Googled to find out what they are and found a few recipes, including this one:

1cup coconut oil
1cup creamy almond butter
Half a cup butter
1 bar of 85% cocoa chocolate ( Lindt, etc…) or high cocoa chocolate chips

You can also add non sweetened fruit such as cranberries or strawberries. Some mentioned adding non-sugar sweetner, but I’m not wild about that.

Melt and mix all together, put in 24 mini muffin wrappers in mini muffin tin.

Fat bomb one optionAnything with chocolate, I’m there!

In my surfing, I also found another LCHF website with some great ideas. It’s www.dietketo.com. They have a fat bomb smoothie…

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp unrefined coconut oil
  • 1/3 cup strawberries
  • a pinch of salt

They also have this Fat Bomb recipe

fat bombs

Ingredients for Diet Keto’s fat bombs

300g of butter (mix between normal butter, almond butter or coconut butter)
100g of 85% chocolate
100g unsweetened coconut

You can also add in some other things to give the fat bombs some additional taste

Examples of things to add into your fat bombs

Raisins
Nuts
Dried unsweetened fruit
Cocoa nibs from cocoa plants
Cocoa powder
Cream
Honey
Vanilla extract

In order to make your fat bombs you should first soften the butter, almond butter or coconut butter (according to recipe). Make sure the butter is soft and easy to handle. Make sure you do not completely melt it. Also melt the chocolate so you can handle it in a good way. Mix butter, chocolate and the other ingredients together into a nice mix. After you have thoroughly mixed together all the ingredients take out some kind of form. It is preferred to have a non-sticky form like a silicone form or similar. (All from www.dietketo.com)

I think I have coconut milk in my cupboard. I think I’m going to start using it. The other thing I read is that you can put it in coffee! :O  I’m not so sure that will go down so well, but if you want to reduce even further the amount of carbs from full cream milk (lactose), you can substitute with coconut milk.

We are beginning to eat like our grandparents did – they were into butter and cream! One of the people who is also following this lifestyle is regular CCFm contributor Bernie Dymet. You can read more at his website www.christianityworks.com

Such a lovely sunny afternoon. I think I’ll do some washing!

This is what I put on CCFm Rise and Shine on Facebook this morning- perhaps it will encourage you too…

2 Chronicles 7:3 is a good verse for today. 7 for the month, 3rd for the day “… and they worshiped and gave thanks to the LORD, saying, “He is good; His love endures forever.” Giving thanks should be part of our lives every day. Having an attitude of gratitude is something to be cultivated. It doesn’t happen overnight. You have to work on it! There’s good reason to say thank you. Ultimately, when all is said and done, it all comes down to what the Creator of the Universe has done. He is not a worthless idol that has eyes, but does not see, or ears, but does not hear or a mouth, that does not speak. No! God is God – personal, loving, kind, eternal. We know Him, through His Son Jesus. He is God who sees and hears and speaks and His love endures forever! Reach out to Him today. He is waiting for you! And be thankful!

God bless you loads!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
