4-59pm
It was a super start to the week. I woke early. I was happy. I was alert! I was bright-eyed and bushy tailed! All went swimmingly well with the show! Mid-morning, I received a phone call from Johanna, Wendy Berry’s long term carer. Wendy wanted to know if I could come and visit. I cut short my morning’s work and at 11-30am went to her home.
She asked that I send you all a message to say thank you for all the prayers and well wishes. She spent a few days at the Cape Point cottages where there is no electricity and it helped a bit. She is home now but very uncomfortable at not being able to find an easy way to rest and sleep. Eating is difficult and painful. She is still sitting in the dark and LOVES having visitors, so if you are able to pop in, she would so so appreciate it. It takes her mind off what is happening to her and makes the time go a little faster. It would make a HUGE difference to her. Please keep her and her family in prayer. Also if any men can spare some time, she would like to board up a study window to have an alternative room to spend time in. If you can help, let me know and I’ll pass her number onto you. She can’t speak on the phone, but Johanna is there to take your call and pass a message onto her. Thanks so much!
After spending an hour with Wendy, I came home in a bit of a somber mood. Whatever you are going through, you will always find someone worse off than you. On arriving home, Granny was having a good day! The patio flowers she helped Sally plant are blossoming (in all meanings of the word!). Granny loves pottering around out there, digging and poking in the dirt! 🙂 When she came in, she made toast for herself! Fantastic! I prepared dinner…
And I read my book…
For the longest time, we have had a really straggly, thin, half-wild stray cat come into our garden. Sometimes I see him often, other times he’s gone for months on end. I have tried in the past to get near him, but he spits and hisses and is pretty unfriendly! The other day when he was in the garden, I thought I can’t let him carry on starving. We feed people who come to our door; I’m going to feed the cat that comes to our garden! As he has now had one or two meals, he has allowed me to get a bit closer to him…
Once he is fattened up, he’ll look much much better! Gizmo, we don’t ever feed. He goes home for grub. This fella doesn’t have a home. I don’t think he’ll ever be friendly enough to migrate into the house. Any suggestions about what I should do?
We can learn a lot from animals…
Job 12:7-10 says “Ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.”
We are all in His Grip!
Lots of love
