The Sad Tale of the Broken Table!

3-12pm

More than twenty-five years ago, Mr. Bekker, who worked with Mike made us a small round table as a wedding gift. Some time ago it broke and Mike repaired it, but it has to be treated with some delicacy. Yesterday I wasn’t concentrating and was lounging on the couch when I absent-mindedly draped my legs over the table top. When I took them down, the table top was sitting at an angle! Ooops!! I straightened and sort of secured it best I could, put it to one side and (to be honest) forgot about it!

When I got home today, David announced that last night he had just put my Bibles down on it and the whole thing broke!! He didn’t know that I had already done some damage. So I said “David! I can’t believe you broke the table!” He was indignant! “I didn’t!” he said, trying to defend himself, “All I did was put your Bibles on it and it broke!” “Did you tell Dad?” I asked. “No,” he said, “because I know he really likes that table!” I shook my head in mock dismay, hiding a little chuckle. “Well,” he said, “I may take it to Tim and ask him if he can do a repair job on it.” “Oh,” I replied, “that would be great. It won’t be Dad’s problem for a change!”

I don’t think David EVER reads my blog, so I think this secret is safe with you! LOL. I phoned Mike to tell him! It is understandable that the Bible had the final say in breaking theย  table…

Hebrews 4:12 – For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. ๐Ÿ™‚

As for the rest of the day, it went by with a carefree degree of contentment. I saw the start of an amazing summer’s day…

I shopped. I did show prep. I sat outside and enjoyed the fountain and Benji the Budgie…

Granny had a visit from the podiatrist as well as a social visit from Miranda. I do appreciate that! It means she’s had some extra people company which is lovely for her. Right now she is sitting on the bench enjoying a cup of tea…

Time now for me to cook!

Have a fabulous evening!

God bless you loads!

In His Grip,
