Monday
Dear Elsie
When my eyes opened today, I remembered it’s the 17th July. This day is special as it’s the day I became a Christian in 1979. I always marvel at the gift I was given on that day. Each 17th July, in my Bible reading, these are the words I read from Romans 4. Paul, quoting David,
Romans 4:7-8
Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him.
Blessed indeed. And that is the sweet flavour of the day.
I did not work a full day today. Riana came for tea and to meet the cats, which is a stretch because they are still timid in front of strangers. The cats seem to be in a routine of spending some time exploring in the morning and then they head for their hiding place until early evening. That’s when they come to life and happy to come and play in the lounge. This morning, I gave them some supervised balcony time. They peered over the edge, stared curiously at the neighbour’s dog and cat and grew enthusiastically excited over birds flying by. They are slowly adjusting to their new environment and soon this our mountainside house will be their fun playground both inside and out.
This was our sunrise view yesterday morning…
And this is Raiku playing with a ball of silver paper. I had lured them out at lunchtime.
My heart is full.
It’s not about now – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Gran xx
